Athena came from a hoarding situation where she had never experienced life inside a home—or even had a name. Trusting humans has been a journey, but she’s making beautiful progress. ❤️

With patience and love from her foster mom, Athena now takes treats from her hand, knows her name, and often comes when called. She absolutely loves other dogs and has formed a special bond with her foster brother, Princeton, who has helped show her that the world isn’t so scary. 🐾

Athena may thrive as an only dog or with a calm, confident canine companion. Her journey to confidence will take time, patience, and understanding—but she’s already come so far.

She was named Athena, the goddess of wisdom and strength, because those are exactly the qualities she’s shown. 💕
